What is AGENACOMP®?

A starch-based bioplastic compound that biodegrades completely—in your backyard, in the field, and in industrial composting facilities.

Starch that performs like plastic. Then disappears like compost.

AGENACOMP® combines AGRANA's proprietary thermoplastic starch technology with biodegradable polyester—no PLA—to create a material that's certified home-compostable and leaves zero microplastic residues behind. A 15 μm film visibly degrades in 2 weeks and fully composts within 4 weeks at home temperatures.

Built on over 40 years of starch processing expertise in Austria, AGENACOMP runs on your existing blown-film, cast-film, injection molding, and 3D printing equipment with no modifications. Films thinner than 10 μm. Solid molded parts for consumer goods. Breathable. Silky surface feel. Transparent in multilayer configurations. Printable without corona treatment. And when it's done—it returns to the soil.

Harvest & Process

AGRANA sources non-GMO corn and wheat starch from regional Austrian growers, converting it into proprietary thermoplastic starch at their production facilities.

Compound

Thermoplastic starch is blended with biodegradable polyester (no PLA) to create AGENACOMP granules—ready-to-extrude, made in Austria.

Blend & Engineer

Blue Standard mixes AGENACOMP with our proprietary compound library to develop novel formulations tailored to your specific market and application requirements.

Produce & Deploy
